Agent-based Simulation of Residential Segregation Dynamics
SimSeg Learning Edition is an agent-based computer simulation program that models factors shaping residential patterns in urban areas. SimSeg models the role of demographic and structural factors such as the city´s ethnic mix and the distribution of high status housing. It also models the role of social processes such as household location decisions and housing discrimination. SimSeg Learning Edition is designed to be used as a tool for understanding residential segregation in American cities. SimSeg enables users to build cities to run simulations and to fine tune factors such as housing discrimination and household residential preferences.
