Demo-Doc

Demo-Doc is a multinational PhD program launched in 2011. It is sponsored by five partners: University of Rostock, Autonomous University of Barcelona, Lund University, La Sapienza - University of Rome, and the MPIDR. Demo-Doc has two major goals: First, the program provides joint education and supervision of a cohort of doctoral students in demography. This cohort comprises 20 PhD students enrolled at the four partner universities. Joint supervision and education are primarily provided through two mechanisms: a transnational mentor program and annual summer schools. Second, Demo-Doc is exploring the possibility of establishing a bi- or multinational PhD program that would award a joint PhD degree from two or more of the Demo-Doc partners. Demo-Doc is funded by the German funding organization Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD).
