The Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research is seeking a
to assist in the collection of published population projection matrices in plants and animals. The successful candidate will carry out a range of regular tasks, mostly the digitalization of data from already archived references as well as classifying datasets. The work will involve operating in an international English- speaking team (Denmark, USA, UK, Ireland, etc.) and will include a close cooperation and coordination with other team members from the University of Rostock.
Experience of work with references and basic logistic skills would be desirable. We are seeking candidates who are reliable and well organized and who have already develop an interest for the diversity of life history strategies in animals and plants. A good command of English is essential. Successful candidates must be pursuing a degree in biology, biodiversity, evolution, ecology or demography. We are particularly interested in final-year undergraduate students who will continue studying a MSc in Rostock, or 1st year MSc students. There is some flexibility in the scheduling and in the number of working hours, though the typical expectation is 35 hours per month.
