Unemployment and Fertility – Structural Conditions vs. Short-term Variations

This project explores the hypothesis that unemployment can lead to fertility increases. A cohort-based modeling approach is proposed that distinguishes between structural and temporary fluctuations in unemployment. The main results show that temporary increases in unemployment can have a positive impact on fertility.Detailed description
