The Max Planck Research Group “Lifecourse Dynamic and Demographic Change“ conducted research at the MPIDR for three years. The group is now dissolved as the former head of the Research Group has been appointed full professor at the renowned London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). We live longer and healthier lives, and have fewer children at much older ages than previous generations. Are these changes driven by current circumstances, or do early life experiences, including experiences before birth, also shape our adult lives? And what are the consequences of these changing demographic behaviors for individuals and populations? Our group investigates these questions by analyzing contemporary and historical data across the world.Detailed description
