3 Student Assistants

The Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research is seeking 3 Student Assistants for the Laboratory of Population Health. The candidates should have a background in Sociology, Demography, Economics, Political Science, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field. Experience with data analysis and related scripting languages (R, Python, Stata) is helpful. A good command of English is essential.

Position A: Research assistant

The tasks include: Literature search; Compilation of demographic data; Secondary data analysis; Organizational support

Position B: Python programer for COVID database (COVerAGE-DB)

The tasks include: Python based web-scraping of demographic data

Position C: Data collector for COVID database (COVerAGE-DB)

The tasks include: Manual compilation of demographic data; Data base quality checks

The successful candidates will start working as soon as possible. The first contract runs over 6 months with the possibility for a prolongation. The number of working hours is max. 9 hours per week. More information on the work of the institute is available at www.demogr.mpg.de.
