Scientific/Student Assistant

The Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research is seeking a

Scientific/Student Assistant

for the Laboratory of Digital and Computational Demography. The candidate should have a background in demography, economics, sociology, or a related field. Experience with software package LaTeX is desired. A good command of English is essential.

Tasks include:

  • Preparatory work for scientific presentations and articles;
  • Work on layout of scientific papers using software package LaTeX (typesetting, presentation of graphics, tables, and bibliography);
  • Processing of scientific literature lists in accordance with specific guidelines;
  • Data handling and data management incl. converting data into charts and graphics.

The successful candidate is supposed to start on December 1, 2021. The initial contract runs over 6 months with the possibility for an extension. The number of working hours is max. 8 hours per week. More information on the work of the Institute is available at www.demogr.mpg.de.
