Student Assistant

The Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research is seeking a Student Assistant for the Research Group Labor Demography. The candidate should have a background in demography, economics, sociology, or a related field. A good command of English is essential. Knowledge of R or Stata is appreciated.

The tasks include

  • Literature search and compilation of summaries/overviews of scientific literature
  • Data handling and data management, incl. converting data into charts and graphics
  • Statistical analysis
  • Preparatory work for scientific presentations and articles
  • Supporting editorial work for Demografische Forschung Aus Erster Hand

The successful candidate can ideally start on November 1, 2024. The initial contract runs for 6 months with the possibility of an extension. The number of working hours is max. 10 hours per week. The place of work is Rostock. Prerequisite is the enrollment at a German university. More information on the work of the Institute is available at www.demogr.mpg.de.
