The aim of this panel is to bring together researchers from the fields of demography, sociology, public health and related disciplines to promote the comparative study of kinship. The team aims to organize workshops, conferences and other events to highlight and foster research on kinship structures and dynamics. Topics of interest include the availability and lack of kin, intergenerational processes and resource exchanges, and kin loss, among others.
The panel's first workshop, "An Introduction to the Analysis of Population-Level Kinship Structures," will take place in Mumbai, India, from November 24 to 27, 2025.
