In June 2017 the MPIDR hosts the Rostock Retreat on data visualization. The retreat aims to bring together people  interested in the visualization of population data. Applications will be accepted until January 15, 2017. more

Life expectancy: trends among the highly educated show the way

Over the last century, life expectancy rose on average by three months a year. As this trend is mainly attributable to life expectancy gains among  more educated people people are getting older. This shows that there is still considerable room for for an increase in the average life expectancy to continue to improve. more
