On July 1, MPIDR doctoral candidate Oliver Wisser successfully defended his doctoral dissertation. In his work, he refined a mathematical model that can be used by demographers to describe mortality. The goal of the work was to reflect better the gender-specific differences in mortality. more

Christine Schnor receives Otto Hahn Medal

On June 17, former MPIDR researcher Christine Schnor received the Otto Hahn Medal for her PhD dissertation. The medal was awarded at the Annual Meeting of the Max Planck Society, and came with a cash prize of 7,500 euros. more
