Honorary doctorate conferred to Jim Vaupel by University of Lund

On May 29, 2015, Swedish Lund University has awarded an honorary doctorate in economy to MPIDR-Director James W. Vaupel.

He was honored notably for his very own approach to demographic research, involving aspects from medicine and biology  as well as sociology and economics.

James W. Vaupel has long cooperated with the Centre for Economic Demography at the university’s School of Economics and Management, both in research and in teaching.
