Project

Quantifying and Interpreting Measures of Segregation

Boris Barron; in Collaboration with Matthew Hall, Tomas Arias (both: Cornell University, Ithaca, USA), Peter Rich (University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA)

Segregation research relies on indices that reduce complex neighborhood patterns to single values, obscuring the underlying structure. Going beyond standard index techniques, this project constructs measures that are descriptive and predictive through a triangulation of information theory, simulations, and empirical tests.  Detailed Description
