The Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Fertility

Aiva Jasilioniene, Dmitri A. Jdanov, Domantas Jasilionis, Isabella Marinetti, Mikko Myrskylä; in Collaboration with Tomáš Sobotka, Kryštof Zeman (both: Austrian Academy of Sciences, Vienna Institute of Demography, Austria)

The COVID-19 pandemic and the unprecedented measures adopted by countries to limit the spread of the virus had major effects on individuals and families, and significantly influenced their childbearing plans. We investigate changes in fertility in response to the pandemic, and explore the potential role of selected contextual factors in the observed fertility shifts.  Detailed Description
