Modeling Informative Censoring Mechanisms

Censoring occurs if data are not reported exactly but only intervals are given in which the observations lie. A crucial assumption for unbiased analyses is that the censoring mechanism is independent of the unobserved value. If this assumption is violated, the censoring mechanism has to be modeled as well.
