Precarious Work, Life-Course Outcomes, and Health
Conducted by Mikko Myrskylä; Christian Dudel, Angelo Lorenti, Jo Mhairi Hale (MPIDR / University of St Andrews, United Kingdom)
In many western countries, employment relations are in transition, and precarious work, non-standard employment, and working poverty are on the rise. These trends are accompanied by increased economic uncertainties and work-life conflicts. In this project, we unravel the mechanisms and trajectories through which individuals find themselves in unstable employment conditions. Moreover, we assess how these employment arrangements give rise to, shape, and affect inequalities, particularly inequalities in health.
