The Labor Market Experiences of Vulnerable Groups and Minorities

Zafer Büyükkeçeci, Pekka Martikainen, Mikko Myrskylä

Detailed Description

In many Western countries, employment relations are in transition, and precarious work, nonstandard employment, and working poverty are on the rise. These trends are accompanied by rising economic uncertainties and work-life conflicts. At the same time, labor market experiences have become increasingly heterogeneous, with vulnerable and disadvantaged groups and minorities being disproportionately affected. In this project, we assess how the labor market trajectories of these groups differ from those of more advantaged groups, and to what extent these differences contribute to inequalities in health and other outcomes.
