Abstract

"Recently, there has been an increasing amount of interest placed on assessing the genetic influence on the variation in human life span. Some researchers are interested in specific genes that may influence longevity, while others are more interested in assessing the overall genetic influence on the variation in human life spans. Family studies have showns a weak correlation between the age at death of parents and offspring (0.06-0.15) and a stronger correlation between the age at death of siblings (0.04-0.35) ]1,2]."
