Julia Leesch is a research scientist at the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research (MPIDR). She received her PhD in Sociology from Trinity College Dublin.

Julia’s work lies at the intersection of family demography and social stratification. Her research specifically focuses on two areas: (a) the consequences of partner search and fertility for social inequalities, including gender inequalities, and (b) the impact of socioeconomic changes, such as educational expansion, on demographic behaviour.
