Habilitation in Demography

Dr. Gabriele Doblhammer of the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research Rostock (MPIDR) was awarded her "Habilitation in Demography" in Vienna in late April 2004. The book she wrote, "The Late Life Legacy of Very Early Life", will soon be published as part of the new series Demographic Research Monographs, a collaboration of the Springer Verlag and of the MPIDR. Prof. James Vaupel, Executive Director of the MPIDR, said, "Congratulations, Gabriele, on being awarded the very first 'Habilitation in Demografie' anywhere in the German-speaking world!"
