Is Aging evitable?

“Until now, longer lives were simply thought to mean less aging. This view is too simplistic, as it confounds the pace and the shape of aging”, says MPIDR researcher Annette Baudisch in an interview with academiaNet. The head of the Max Planck Research Group “Modeling the Evolution of Aging” has developed a new definition — a definition that has two dimensions: the “pace” of aging, which reflects life expectancy, and the “shape” of aging, which describes how an individual's ability to survive is increasing or decreasing with time.
