Jim Vaupel at the Nobel Week Dialogue
On 9th December, the day before the Nobel Prize Award Ceremony, the Nobel Week Dialogue will be held in Stockholm. The Dialogue is a full-day-event where representatives from politics, society and the scientific community – among them many Nobel Laureates – come together to engage in dialogue on aging society. MPIDR-Director Jim Vaupel will take an active part in the discussions.
The theme of this year’s, the third Nobel Week Dialogue is "The Age to Come - New scientific and cultural perspectives on ageing". The event aims to gather outstanding thinkers from science, society and politics in one place to share a topic relevant to society, with previous themes on genetics (2012) and energy (2013) and this year’s theme on aging.
A total of 31 participants will make up the panel this year, among them 6 Nobel Laureates, the Swedish Minister of Education and Innovation, and artist Jeff Koons.
MPIDR-Director James W. Vaupel will give a talk on the demographic consequences of an aging society at the start of the event.
The event is free of charge and open for all to attend. All of the 1300 seats are fully booked; however, the event can be followed live-stream on www.nobelweekdialogue.org, Facebook and Twitter (#nobeldialogue). A moderator is ready to receive questions to receive questions online and bring them to the table.
