Time for a Well-Deserved Break

2020 has been an absolutely unprecedented year – falling completely out of the ordinary and throwing us a few challenges. We have had to change the way we work together, do our research, and also spend our free time.

Amid the obstacles of the “new normal,” we have nevertheless continued advancing the frontiers of demographic research and successfully got through the evaluation by the scientific advisory board. Now, it is time for some well-deserved days off!

From December 24 to January 1 things will wind down a bit at the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research. Whenever and wherever it is possible, we believe in spending time with loved ones – even if it might look a little different this year.

We wish all of our employees, alumni, and those associated with our Institute happy holidays and a wonderful start to 2021, a year hopefully less influenced by the pandemic.

Best wishes,

Mikko Myrskylä and Emilio Zagheni
