Benjamin Schlüter is a new member in the Laboratory of Population Dynamics and Sustainable Well-Being at the Department of Digital and Computational Demography. His research interest is particularly focused on health inequalities and vulnerable population groups like orphans. He likes to be close to a river and the sea in Rostock.
What question drives you most in your research?
I am particularly interested in health inequalities and applying novel methods to study them. For example, I am looking at vulnerable population groups such as orphans.
What are you particularly looking forward to as you start working at the MPIDR?
I am looking forward to learn from colleagues, build collaborative research projects, share interests, and get to know new people.
What do you like most about Rostock?
Having the water (river and sea) all around and being “close” to Berlin.
What are you obsessed with at the moment besides demography?
I’ll soon be a father for the second time so I’m pretty excited to meet the little one.
