Abstract

Time trends in human morbidity influenced by major evolutionary-genetic factors (i.e. mutations, migrations, genetic drift and natural selection) are discussed. The time-related change in the spectrum of common human pathology is considered to be partly due to the change in the spectrum of selected physiological traits.
