Abstract

This article focuses on the fertility behavior of migrants within the village of Sart, Belgium—that is, all of the individuals born outside the village, regardless of their place of origin, whether urban or rural. Its aim is to assess whether receiving populations differ from migrants in marital fertility behavior. The analysis accounts for both partners in a marriage, shedding light on an important group that is often absent from historical fertility research.
