Congratulations!

MPIDR-Researcher Iain Ridgway has come second  in a half marathon held as part of the “Rostock Marathon Night”. He covered 21.5 kilometers in 1:17:44 hours.

The 11th “Rostock Marathon Night” took place August 4, 2013. A total of 1836 runners participated in the run. The winner was Ts'otleho Peter Fane from Lesotho, who has run the distance in 1:09:27 hours.

Iain Ridgway comes from Great Britain. He is a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Laboratory of Evolutionary Biodemography and conducts research on mussels that have extreme longevity, such as the Ocean quahog Arctica islandica.

Besides running marathons, he competes in ultra-marathons, trail running and mountain running. He has represented Great Britain at Trail running and Wales in 100km road races and mountain running.
