Katja Gramsch has real organizing ability. She has been working in the hotel industry for 13 years, planning weddings and corporate events. Since March she is responsible for the organisation of workshops at MPIDR.

Why did you decide to work at MPIDR?

I was looking for a new challenge and that is exactly what MPIDR offers me. Here I can work in my dream job of event planning in a new environment. That's why I'm looking forward to expanding my knowledge in many ways and developing myself personally.

What are you particularly looking forward to as you start working at MPIDR?

I am looking forward to creating new concepts for the workshops at the institute. In this way I want to combine tested ideas with new ones.

You are from Rostock, what do you like most here?

I have spent almost my entire, still young life in Rostock. I love the proximity to the coast, the Baltic Sea beach and the clear air. For me Rostock is the ideal town. It is not too big and crowded and is ideally located for many excursions in the surrounding area.

At work your organizing abilty is most important, what do you enjoy doing during leisure?

I love to explore nature with my family and our dog. I also enjoy doing handicrafts with my children and, if time permits, I love to read.

The Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research (MPIDR) in Rostock is one of the leading demographic research centers in the world. It's part of the Max Planck Society, the internationally renowned German research society.
