Michaela Kreyenfeld appointed professor at Hertie School

MPIDR researcher Michaela Kreyenfeld has been appointed Professor of Sociology at the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin.

Next to her new duties, she will continue to work at the MPIDR, heading the research group “Life Course, Social Policy, and Family“. It focuses on social policies, fertility dynamics, changes in family formation, social inequalities, and parental employment behavior.

Michaela Kreyenfeld completed  her PhD in 2002 at the University of Rostock. From 2005 to 2012, she was a  Junior Professor at Rostock University and Deputy Head of the MPIDR research group Economic and Social Demography. She was also a visiting scholar at Stockholm University.  Michaela Kreyenfeld is Member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Family Research and the  journal Comparative Population Studies (CPOS).
