Fertility and Uncertainty

The recent global recession and increasing risks of disasters have spurred research on the multifaceted dimensions through which uncertainty in childbearing environments is linked to fertility outcomes. Projects in this research area contribute to this discussion along several dimensions. One emphasis is to assess the short- and long-term impact of the recent COVID-19 pandemic on family formation process. Another focal point is to examine different aspects of uncertainty, stemming from the increasing natural hazards due to climate change and the growing economic precariousness experienced by couples.
