Working-Life Expectancy at Older Age

A major indicator of the success or failure of policy measures to increase the length of working life is working life expectancy at older age. This indicator estimates how much of the remaining lifetime will be spent in employment or labor market activity. In this project, we assess how working life expectancy at older age has developed in recent years, how it differs between institutional settings, how it depends on economic trends, and how it differs between socioeconomic groups. In contrast to earlier literature we do not only focus on period working life expectancy, but also  look at working-life expectancy for birth cohorts, and we use longitudinal survey data as well as rich register data.
